Well, it's actually happened more than once in real life, but I still don't need it haunting my dreams. I sat up and took in my surroundings. Joe's room is a complete mess! I tried to strategize a way around the catastrophe Joe called a bedroom floor. I spotted a path leading from the bed. It snaked in several directions: to the dresser, the closet, the television with a bright, white Wii next to it on the stand, and finally, my destination, the door. I got up and easily made my way through the path, passing the clothes and various articles of trash. I walked down the hallway to the staircase. As I walked, Nick came out of his room. He was only wearing boxers, just like Joe. Does anybody wear clothes in this house? I couldn't help but look him up and down. That boy had one fine body. He was almost as well-muscled as Joe, which was definitely saying something. He stopped and looked at me. I saw his eyes travel up and down my body a couple times. The third time his eyes rested at my chest. What a perv. I felt my eyes moving up and down his body again. He was pretty hot. I really love Joe, though, so I would never, like, do anything with him. This is a slideshow that is sort of from the point of view of my much younger cat, Macintosh. Mac is getting close to two years old now, and not long after we brought him home when he was a kitten, I remember how he loved Mocha like an older brother... and for a while, Mocha always thought Mac was a little brat! (The first few days he was a bit shy, then Mocha taught him how to hiss.) But the two became close friends until Mocha's life ended on August 4th due to a heart condition. It was a heartbreaking loss to everyone, and everyone was Mocha's friend (any human he met he would instantly warm up to). My mom told me that after Mocha died, she put his collar on the dresser in her bedroom. Mac found it and paused for a while to sniff it before laying down near by it with his head next to his paws; his face actually expressed sadness. How to Set Up the Perfect Bedroom

We all know the statistics of how much of our lives we spend asleep, but the curious fact can be taken one step further. If we dress and prepare for our day -- as well as end our day there -- what percentage of our lives is spent in the bedroom? You would have to guess somewhere close to 40% overall, so it's obvious that setting up a bedroom right is an essential part of your interior design. Whether big or small, hard wood-floored or carpeted, the bedroom must be handled with care. Here are the five big things to do in order to set up a perfect bedroom.

1. Get the bed right. Obviously, without the proper bed any planning you make in the bedroom will be nullified. Make sure it is up-to-date and allows you to sleep like royalty. Not only will your energy be affected by a poor sleep cycle: your entire demeanor can be damaged if you're not sleeping soundly. Spend the majority of your budget on the mattress, with a balance between firmness and softness. The box spring, or foundation, is the place where the impact will be absorbed. Don't undermine a great bed without the right foundation. As for placement, give access to sunlight but don't drown yourself in it, unless you can block it out with blinds or curtains.

2. Identify and maximize storage space. If you have been blessed with many large closets, the majority of your bedroom furniture can serve a decorative purpose. However, if you need to store clothing, you'll have to find the right pieces for space and design. A chest of draws with a mirror above it can serve as an ideal place for getting ready. An armoire will afford the luxury of hanging clothes where space in the closet ran out. Coordinating your pieces is essential.

3. Make sure your desk is usable. There is nothing like getting work done on a desk in the privacy of your own bedroom. Whether talking on the phone, sending an email, or just thinking things through, the desk is one of the most intimate places when it comes to self-reflection. If your windows overlook a busy street, move the desk back to keep that solid frame of mind.

4. Keep a chair and table space. No matter how small your bedroom may be the presence of a table and chair makes a huge difference. These pieces might have to be small, but it's not something to overlook. Within the bedroom, there is going to be a desk and a bed to do your reading and thinking. They represent two extremes, one too rigid in some situations, the other too relaxed. With a cozy chair and side table, you will make your bedroom the ultimate comfort zone.

5. Get the lighting right. Don't forget about lighting. It's a room in which a dimmer switch is a must. Also, make sure turning off the lights at the end of the night is not a chore. You don't have to clap your hands; just put the switch within reach of your bed.

3 Step Guide For Decorating a Room

Your home should always say something about you and your family. It is one of the most important statements that you will make, just as the way you dress and the way you come across are ways of communicating.

In the same way as the overall effect of your house or apartment is a reflection of you, your aspirations, your likes and dislikes, each room in your home will be a declaration of something about the family that lives there and about the use that room is planned to provide.

That is why home decor is so important.

It could be your bedroom or the living room It could also be your dinning room or your library. The guest room, the kid's room, the kitchen and even the bathrooms. The house or apartment can be big or small. It can be home to one or more people.

No matter which room it is, the room in question will always have a specific reason for being, and this means that when decorating that particular room you should consider:

Step 1:

Be consistent: Consistency with the room's use, for a example in a dinning room you will need tables and chairs; in a bedroom- a bed, a night table and so on. That is the first part, the other is that the furniture has to combine well together. This does not necessarily mean that everything has to be part of the same pattern but it does mean being consistent with the style you want. There can be, and probably will be, times when you have individual pieces of furniture or even one specific one that you just can't live without. So even if it is hard to mix styles you can integrate colors. Also a great thing about some rules is that you can break them. In this case it can mean that the table or armchair that you want can be located in the room to stand out amongst everything else.

Colors: If you look around you will notice that there is color everywhere and the colors you see will have different shades of blue or green or browns as the case may be. This is one of the secrets. Choose a range of colors and combine the shades or tonalities. When choosing strong colors (the primary colors) don't over do it. Use the color sparingly and combine it with lighter tones and this will make that strong color stand out. Light colored ceilings make the room look larger. Strong colors on the walls will make the room look smaller. Strong wall colors should be combined with light colored carpet or hard flooring.

The color range you have in your room is just as important as the furniture you place there - and you do have a wide range of styles, picture, decorative items, rugs and pieces of furniture to play around with. Try and combine colors that go together. Complementary colors would be those that don't clash together,and you can easily find these (there are too many options to list)with a quick search on the web. The important thing is not the brightness, or the strength of the color. What you need to focus on is the color tone that will drive the look of the room.

Step 3:

Draw A Simple Blue Print: This third step is a very simple one but many people ignore it or find it unnecessary. Draw a map of the room on a grid sheet making sure you keep to scale. Cut blocks representing the larger pieces of furniture and place them onto the drawn room. You can then move them easily around keeping in mind doorway and circulation areas, It is as simple as that.
