The History of the Babydoll

A babydoll is a piece of lingerie that is quite popular with the younger generation. It is a short nightgown or negligee that is usually worn to bed. Babybolls are decorated in many different decorations was, including but not limited to lace, faux fur, ruffles, bows and ribbons. Most babydolls hang off of the shoulder by spaghetti straps. The babydoll mainly comes in chiffon, silk or nylon and is usually sheer or see-through. The babydoll got it's name from the length of the hemline, which comes about six inches above the knees, which is similar to a mini-dress.

The babydoll was made popular from a movie titled Baby Doll. The movie came out in 1956, Carroll Baker played, a sexy 19-year-old virgin. The style of nightgown she wore in the movie was soon a "must have" for everyone. It may also be traced to the 1930s and 1940s, at that time short bed-jackets trimmed with lace, as well as an array of bed-capes, were worn by women.

Later, the babydoll was transformed into a short dress that could be worn during the day. It was at this time that it became quite popular among the younger generation because the style made people think of youthfulness and innocence. This new style of babydoll soon became a popular addition to the bedroom, as well. Some of the styles are similar to those worn by dolls, where the buttocks could easily be seen, leading to an enhancement in sexual play. Some babydolls that open in the front and are similar to a robe.

Now, the babydoll is considered a popular form of lingerie, helping to create fantasies. The short length of the hem makes legs appear to be longer. For those who do not wish to be completely exposed on the bottom part of their body, the gown is accompanied by a set of matching panties. If you are not aiming for a sexual presentation, the babydoll is also a short nightgown, which comes in a variety of elegant styles.

Babydoll's are found in lingerie boutiques. Some boutiques have some of the styles hailing from the 1960s and 1970s, within its own department. Baby doll nighties that date back to the 1950s to the early 1980s are considered now as valuable collectibles. Another movie has made the babydoll popular, since the 1956 Baby Doll flick, . The babydoll worn by the "Fembot" in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and is made of marabou, a type of silk . It is a marabou bralette with a pleated chiffon skirt and a marabou hemline.

Remodel Your Bedroom Doors

Want to make your bedroom more attractive so that you can enjoy life? This is not a silly joke. The happiness in life mainly depends on few things. One is interior decoration of your heart along with the interior decoration of your house, which is second. The interior decoration of the house helps form the interior decoration of the heart. Only when you feel pleasant at house do you feel like happy with you partner. When the house looks clumsy and congested, you will lose the interest to stay in that house though your wife looks good. So make use of mirrored bi-fold doors in your bedroom to get a new look for your bedroom.

Apart from the doors you can also change the settings and the places of the objects in the bedroom to get a new feel. If people are used to sleep in one direction then it might be tough to change the objects here and there including the bed. In such cases you can change the rest all except for moving bed and the most important objects that you would like to see in the morning like the photo of your kid if he is staying away from you along with his grandparents. What a beautiful feeling to see his photo early in the morning. Despite this even some have a sentiment of seeing a quotation that makes their life principle.

OK, now that we have completed with the rearrangement of objects then the next thing which we can think of is the mirrored bi-fold doors. They have triple effect to the bedroom in which you get these installed. Make the room appear larger than before as they occupy less space. Second is reflecting light so to brighten the nights with a minimal bed lamp. Apart from causing increase in light that flows in the room the mirror attached to the closet will skip the view of closet from the eyes of the visitors of your bedroom and have a beautiful look imagining it is a mirror.

Third advantage of using bi-fold doors is possible both in bedroom and bathroom where we try to dress up ourselves either for the day in or for getting ready to night. As they give you a modern look and feel of style to your bedroom you too can dress up a bit stylish to make your days special. Apart from the bedroom you can also fix the doors in the other parts of the house which needs careful installation. Even the bedroom fittings also need proper installation by the professional person to get the maximum benefits of the doors. The only maintenance activity which is needed from your side is to put some grease or oil in the junctions to prevent the noise when closing and opening the doors. There are several styles even in the bi-fold doors that can be used in the rest of the house part from bedroom like accordion and louvered types. You should prefer the selection based on the requirement in your house.

Avi Buffalo - "I'm So Exclusive"

Avi Buffalo - "I'm So Exclusive" little-videos.com July 6, 2009 Avi and I met up on a fairly overcast Monday afternoon in early July, the kind of day where the marine layer just sits with a certain stillness. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I showed up, whether it would be the full band, or just Avi acoustic (all the music and words are his, but it isn't your typical singer-songwriter fare). What I got wasn't really either. It was at his parents' house, nestled somewhere in a quiet and invisible patch of suburban Long Beach. Maybe more unassuming than the home itself was Avi; shaved head, all smiles, wearing a bright blue long sleeve UCLA shirt and torn black jeans. He said he'd thought he might play a few songs with his electric through an amp, and maybe do one acoustic song. I have to admit I was a bit incredulous at how this would work with just him, but that was proven wrong the moment he started. Avi's music has a sort of magnetism to it that keeps pulling you further in. The careful imagery, delivery and intricate musicianship that, even with just his guitar and voice, is layered with such depth that it begs for further listening. Sidebar: Of course the first thing anyone tends to mention when talking about Avi Buffalo is their age. I was completely oblivious of this (that he had literally just graduated high school a week or so before), even when I showed up at his parents' house and he played in the room he grew up in; after all, I know plenty of ...

Lovely Lavender Wedding Details

Lavender is a lovely and soothing color. It combines well with other colors to create interesting wedding color palettes, and it also stands well on its own. These are some inspiring tips for using lavender details in your wedding.

Lavender is a pale purple with a cool blue undertone, just like the flowering herb of the same name. The fragrance of lavender is known for its soothing quality, and the color is equally relaxing. Who couldn't use something to help them relax at their wedding? Paired with white, lavender is fresh and simple, but you can also create some great effects using it with an accent color. For a spring wedding, add touches of buttercream yellow to your signature hue. Brown gives lavender depth and elegance, and for a crisp wedding palette, navy and lavender look terrific together.

Certainly the first place to use lavender in your wedding is the bouquets and centerpieces. The relaxing aroma of lavender will be heavenly in the bride and bridesmaids' bouquets. Many other flowers work wonderfully with lavender. Romantic sweetpeas and pretty lisyanthus come in wonderful shades of lavender, and there are some unbelievable silvery-lavender roses available. For a rich monochromatic effect, pair lavender with deep velvety purples, or mix in contrasting colors, such as yellow or even red.

The bridesmaid dresses will look beautiful in lavender. It is an easy color to wear, as it is flattering to most skin tones. For a summer afternoon wedding, nothing would be prettier than a lavender organza dress tied with a navy sash. This is a particularly nice look by the water. The bridesmaid jewelry can be handcrafted from pale lavender crystals and classic white pearls. The soft and feminine color combination makes a perfect bridesmaid jewelry gift, as it can easily be paired with everything from a little black dress to denim after the wedding.

A color as pretty as lavender works wonderfully for a wedding cake. If you love an old-fashioned look, choose a lavender buttercream cake with little violets made from sugar. For a more contemporary wedding cake, you can create a bold chocolate brown stripe on a lavender fondant base. A very elegant design would be a bold damask pattern in lavender and navy, perhaps with metallic accents. The fun thing about the wedding cake is that you can really let your creative side take over.

Sprigs and bunches of lavender will cast a dreamy scent over your wedding. Large bunches of lavender can be tied with a wide satin ribbon and hung on the church doors to greet your guests. A small sprig of lavender is a pretty and aromatic accent to tie on the favor boxes or to use as a decoration on the napkins. Unlike some heavier scents, a touch of lavender is fine to use near food, and in fact, is even an ingredient in the classic French seasoning herbs de Provence.

The color lavender will be a lovely addition to your reception décor. If too much purple is a concern, just use touches of your signature hue to add character to your venue. Basic white chair covers can be dressed up with wide lavender sashes. Pretty lavender specialty cocktails make a festive addition to the cocktail hour. And don't forget to have your monogram cast in lavender light onto the dance floor for your first dance!

Lavender is a terrific wedding color. It is not too trendy, it pairs well with more masculine colors, and it looks great at any time of the year. With all of these things to recommend lavender, it is no surprise that it is one of the most versatile wedding colors around.

Decorating Ideas For Apartment Bedrooms - Part 2

In part two of our two part series, we look at some specific decorating tips and ideas for apartment bedrooms...

Style Pointers

WALLS AND CEILING

Fresh white walls and ceiling reflect the light and create a spacious atmosphere as well as a neutral backdrop for colorful furnishings and accessories.

ACCESSORIES

Framed posters reinforce the blue and white color theme and break up the wall space. A few well-chosen accessories - vases of flowers, bedside candlelamps, and simple knickknacks - add a personal stamp.

SOFT FURNISHINGS

Blue and white bedlinen in a strong, naive design adds a bold splash of pattern. A blue and white ticking roller blind, softened with voile drapes, provides night-time privacy.

STORAGE

Bedside tables provide storage space for books and other items. Clothes may be hung in freestanding or built-in wardrobes or from a screened-off hanging rail.

LIGHTING

Slender candlelamps are an elegant choice and provide ample light for bedtime reading. Wall-mounted torcheres, in white to match the walls, give restful overall lighting.

FURNITURE

A wrought-iron bedstead and wicker bedside tables and chair have a straightforward, contemporary feel and clean outlines which are perfect for the look.

Furnishings

Furniture: Apartment-style decorating revolves around maximizing space and minimizing cost, so try to choose furniture that offers plenty of storage space and serves more than one function. A well-lit, clutter-free dressing table, for example, doubles as a desk to make a quiet work place away from the main living area; a low, painted chest makes a perfect bedside table with room inside for bed linen; a platform bed with pull-out drawers or even a second, spare bed underneath is a real bonus; and in an older home, a built-in window seat creates a snug corner for relaxation and provides valuable storage space. If your bedroom is really small, consider installing a sofa bed to free up maximum floor space during the day. Futons have a suitably modern feel and are generally reasonably priced.

In terms of style, keep to functional furniture. Pale, stripped, or stained wood, in white or primary colors, laminate furniture, and polished or painted metal are just right. Avoid cluttering up the bedroom with too much furniture. In addition to the bed and built-in storage (see below), all you need are bedside tables and, if there's room, a comfortable chair and perhaps a basic dressing table or desk. Wicker furniture is inexpensive and adds a friendly touch, especially if other furniture in the room is stark. Glass-topped tables take up little visual space and add emphasis to any ornaments or objects displayed on them - a clock or vase of flowers, for example, seems to float in the air.

The bed: Like the other furniture, the bed should be simple and functional in style. Choose a basic wooden bedstead, natural, painted, or stained, or a wrought-iron one for contemporary chic; or opt for a simple daybed and dress it up with boldly patterned and colored bed linen. Set against the walls with a bolster at each end and some scatter cushions along the back, such a bed provides sofa-style seating during the day.

Storage: With space at a premium, built-in floor-to-ceiling cupboards and wardrobes make sense, along one wall, filling an alcove or fitted in an arch over and down the sides of the bed. Mirrored doors on storage units double the sense of space and light and, unlike a freestanding mirror, take up no additional floor space. In a very small bedroom, choose built-in furniture to tone and blend in with the walls.

Check out office supply stores for functional filing cabinets and box storage systems, which come in a bright array of colors as well as traditional gray and black. Industrial suppliers are a potential source of clever storage units, such as galvanized metal high-security boxes.

On a limited budget, you can fit a clothes rail across an alcove and screen it with bright fabric curtains or with white or boldly painted medium-density fiberboard panels. For added storage options, build one or more shelves at various levels behind the screen.

Main Bedroom Designs and Ideas

Design Your Own Bedroom

As our lives become ever more frenetic, the haven that comfortable bedroom designs offer becomes more and more inviting - and not just for sleeping. Quiet reading, television viewing (for the programs we want to watch), enjoying a peaceful light supper, letter writing - these are all activities that may be best suited to that special private space.

Whether accompanied by a partner or not, we should consider our bedroom the one area where we are obliged to please no one but ourselves (the words indulgence and pampering spring to mind). It therefore makes good sense for the 'best' bedroom space and access to dressing and bathroom facilities to be reserved for this purpose.

At last the benefits of self-containment have been realized. We expect to pay a premium for a hotel suite, so why not plan permanent accommodation on similar lines, with areas set aside for hobbies, relaxing, dressing, bathing and of course sleeping?

Main Bedroom Design Ideas

When it comes to deciding upon main bedrooms design scheme, it really is a question of whatever takes your fancy: remember, this is your room! For preference, though, many people opt for soft colors and quiet patterns as these are considered less tiring on the eyes and more conducive to rest and relaxation. An obvious area of contention is when two people of different persuasions try to concoct a scheme to suit both. This problem can usually be overcome by the skilful selection of colors and patterns mid-way between the two tastes.

Botanical prints do not necessarily mean acres of pretty pink roses, and in any case pink does not have to be pale and feminine. Some of the most successful bedroom schemes rely on neither interesting colors nor bold patterns. Picked for their blandness, neutrals provide a wonderful backdrop for relaxation and can be sparked up by the introduction of pretty bed linen, stylish furniture and sharp accessories. Here you have the chance to buy that really fine, delicately colored carpet of your dreams (thought to be far too impractical for other traffic-heavy areas). The one requirement is that, whatever covering is selected, it should be kind on the feet. Fashionably modern, natural floorings rarely meet this criterion, but the situation can be saved by laying mats of more friendly materials at bedside 'landing spots'.

There are many styles of dressing table, among which the fabric-covered type is a timeless favorite. The most important factor, however, is its positioning so that as much natural light as possible falls upon the face of the person sitting at the dressing table - beneath a window is ideal.

Bedroom Interior Design Ideas

If you enjoy the feeling of being cocooned, bed drapes are for you. Whether emanating from a corona, half-tester or full tester, they give a wonderfully secure, enclosed feeling and look extremely attractive into the bargain. Always devote careful thought to the lining of any such bed treatment as that is what will be most often seen by the person lying in bed. A smaller repeat of the face fabric pattern can produce a very pleasing result, as can the use of ticking fabric in a coordinating color.

Everyone has their personal preference when it comes to the choice of bedside table or cupboard. There are, though, some common principles worth considering. First, for convenience, it is best if the unit is approximately the same height as the top of the bed mattress. This will vary, but will most usually be around 50cm/lft 8in.

Ideally there should be enough space within the unit to accommodate all that you might wish to store at the bedside: this will help prevent a cluttered top with nowhere to set down that occasional cup of tea or perhaps a posy of fresh rosebuds. A sheet of clear glass cut to the outline of the top of a cloth-covered table will help to prevent staining and dust gathering on the fabric surface.

Tunic Dress

A tunic dress is a loose-fitting garment with either long or short sleeves. It might be unbelievable but these dresses were initially worn by men and not women. Tunic dresses were worn by men of the Roman civilization. This is a great addition to any wardrobe.

It is a simple pullover garment that is easy to wear, versatile and flattering to any figure. These garments have been around for a very long time and they are here to stay. Women, most especially adore them. It is a must-have in a woman's wardrobe, along with the shirtdress, the white shirt and the plaid shirts.

The cloth's length extends to the knees or up to the middle of the thighs and ankles. They have an opening for the head. It is very easy to wear, stylish and comfortable. The word tunic is derived from the Latin word "Tunica", which means earlier Greek garment. Tunics are available in a number of lengths and styles.

Examples are smocks and beautiful frills. These clothes look stylish when worn over slim boots, leggings, or skinny jeans. Flaws can be easily covered by these fashion statements. Flabby things and large tummies can be easily concealed.

Short Dress

These end above the hips and look simply divine on skinny women. These also give the illusion of larger breasts, which is very good news for women who are not that gifted in that area. Women who have large or round hips or waists should steer clear of this design. The material clings to the body when blown by the wind so it is not very good when it comes to hiding a large stomach.

Long Dress & Mini Dress

· Long Tunic. This can be worn much like a mini dress. It looks when paired with sandals or with boots. They also look great when worn with skinny jeans or with w short skirt. This style is ideal for women who are tall and lean. A long, tunic dress can hide a woman's large hips, bottom and thighs. Choose a long tunic dress made of thick material so that it won't cling to the body when blown by the wind. A long black tunic dress makes a very great statement.
· Mini Tunic. These look very great for nights out with girlfriends or with that special man. These are also perfect for summer. These can be paired with flat sandals or knee-high boots. For these types it is essential to pick body hugging types with necklines and sleeves which suite the wearer. This is great for skinny women but large women should avoid it.

Short Sleeved Dress & Long Sleeved Dress

· Short Sleeved/Long Sleeved Dress. A dress of this kind with short sleeves reveals the top half of a woman's arm, as well as the rest of the arm. This is not ideal for women who have flabby arms. For those who are not that gifted in the arm area should just go for tunics with long sleeves.
· Dress Tops. These are trendy and popular fashion apparels. They are perfect for summer of the stretchy, light and comfortable fabric. Tunic tops are pullovers that can be extended just below the waistline. There are a few tops, though, that are longer than the standard length.

How to Wear a Tunic Dress

This kind of dress can be worn with style for added oomph. However, if it is not worn right, it can make a woman look frumpy and overweight. It is a must to choose the right dress for your body shape for success.

The color must also complement a woman's skin tone. Tunic dresses are appealing and they are very comfortable and cool for the summer season. They have an easy to wear shape that can be paired with almost anything. They can be teamed with flats or high heels and stilettos. A wide belt can also be added to change the look of a women's dress.

For the summer season, it is best to go with fuchsia, purple and yellow. If you are in search of a classic piece to add to your wardrobe, it is best to choose a tunic dress with monochromes. This will never go out of style. You can just throw it over pants and you are good to do.

The idea an attractive and stimulating your partner, investing in sexy clothing clothing has increased dramatically and does not seem to slow down.

Contrary to popular belief years ago, role-playing gamesthe bedroom not only increased, but the clothes can be worn, is to see a wider selection. There are a variety of roles that a woman can take the bedroom to find an agreement with her husband in this!

The standard French maid outfits and schoolgirl outfits are available, what will always be. They are classics, costume symbol came out. In recent years, sparked official duties, the interest of couples and women around the worldnow have the role of a policeman who believed with handcuffs, a nightstick and more to come.

Designing Your Toddler's Bedroom

Is it time for you to clear out your child's crib and design a bedroom centered around your toddler's interests? One of the best ways to do this is by using calming colors to encourage rest and interactive toys for play time. You can also make things run more smoothly by designating specific play areas. Below are a few ideas to help you get started.

Taking your child's crib out and converting the room to a toddler room can be very bittersweet for you and exciting for your toddler. They may be apprehensive at first, but one way to help them during the transition is to use calming colors. Their bedroom should encourage rest, above everything else. Lighter colors, such as tans, blues, lavenders, etc., are said to help relax instead of stimulate. I believe every mom agrees that at bedtime the last thing you want is your toddler stimulated! Any way you look at it, calming colors seem to be the way to go.

If you do not have a separate play room for the children, and the bedroom serves as both, you should incorporate some interactive toys in the room to keep your child entertained during the day. Maybe your little girl's dresser can also serve as her vanity and her toy box as her dress up closet. For the little boy in your house, maybe you incorporate a bunk bed that he can use as a fort by draping blankets over it so that the bottom bunk in enclosed. Train tables fit great in corners and little boys love these as well. The possibilities are endless!

Designating specific areas in children's rooms for different activities help keep everything organized. One great way to do this is by using area rugs. For the little boy that loves everything that moves, there are rugs that have roads on them so he can "drive" all of his cars around the town. If you have a bookshelf in the corner, place an area rug beside it and use this area for you and your child to sit during book time. This will help you to almost create "centers" in a child's room. Since this room functions as a bedroom and playroom, why not designate a corner with a large rug as the toy area? If all toys stay in this area, it will save mom or dad from stepping on something painful when they go in after dark to check on the little ones. There are many ideas that you can incorporate with this. Always remember that you can order area rugs and other supplies online to save yourself a trip to the store. How much easier can it get than clicking a mouse and having it arrive on your doorstep?

No matter how you accomplish it, changing your nursery into a toddler room will be quite an adventure, albeit bittersweet for you! Whether you do it by changing the wall color, adding area rugs to designate centers, or adding fun interactive toys for your growing little one, they are sure to love it! Remember to have fun and think of the way you would have wanted your room as a child. There are many ways of achieving the affordable dream room. Design away!

Design Challenge - Attic Bedroom

Given: Little windows, dark room, bright coral flowered bedspread, two mismatched peeling brown painted tables, $300 budget. Goal: Guest bedroom

Let's go over to the paint store and look at their paint chips. Choose a white tinged paint with a few drops of coral for the walls. After that we need to find a way to work in lots more coral shades wherever space permits, the floor, the wall posters, and little decorative objects. Paint remover will take the peeling paint off the old tables. Then they can be painted a dull coral..

For the bedside tables, hopefully round, you can buy some coral velvet, make a tablecloth and drape the particle board tables you can find at Home Depot for under $30.00.

A light coral shimmery fabric would be great for the windows. It would make the most of any light at all, outside light or from lamps. We'll keep the lampshades off white, blending with the wall color.

Most important is to paint a piece of cardboard we get at the paint store with the room color. Then we take that piece of cardboard with us whenever we shop for anything for the room such as lamp shades, curtain material, or other accessories.

For window shades or venetian blinds, we'll choose off white, blending with the wall color. For the woodwork we'll do off white as well. Attics are usually dark and need all the help they can get.

With any money left over we'll buy a standing lamp, one with an up light to illuminate the ceiling. The room will feel lighter and bigger. If any other money can be allotted, try to find a bright area rug in shades of orange. A small chair next to the standing lamp and a small table would add a lot. Put one or two paperbacks plus a little ceramic bowl on the table for wrapped candies.

Any banners or posters should repeat the main colors, either exactly or shades of brown and coral. Let your imagination choose freely but have a theme such as sunsets, flowers, ancient buildings, abstracts.

A brown teddy bear will be very happy on the coral bedspread.

Wicker Bedroom Furniture

Wicker bedroom furniture pieces are created by covering a solid frame by woven rattan, bamboo, cane or synthetic resin. These include furniture pieces such as beds, dressers, chests, night stands, wardrobes and mirrors that are suitable and functional for the bedroom.

In addition to large bedroom furniture pieces, wicker is also used to create objects such as lampshades, chests, hampers, planters, baby bassinets and carriages, which are used as decorative pieces in a bedroom. Bedroom wicker or rattan furniture possesses the inherent ability to harmonize or adapt to any décor and tapestry.

Wicker bedroom furniture is available in both loom woven wicker and synthetic wicker. Natural loom woven furniture with a solid aluminum, hardwood or steel frame is preferred because of its intricate and delicate exterior finish and strong internal frame. Another reason for the gaining popularity of wicker bedroom furniture is that it is less expensive than teak wood or wrought iron furniture.

While choosing wicker furniture, it is important to choose a woven material that is dense. Light wicker is often unsteady and unreliable. It is also important to find furniture that is built on a rattan or hardwood frame. Good quality wicker will not crack or peel, but cheaper versions tend to split.

Maintenance of bedroom wicker furniture is also very important. The furniture pieces need to dusted and vacuumed regularly. Paint and varnish protect the finish of the furniture and prolong its life.

Bedroom wicker furniture should be prevented from coming into contact with water. It should be dried immediately when it gets wet. However, over-drying of wicker results in cracking or peeling, due to the dry indoor heat. To avoid this, the furniture pieces should be cleaned with a damp cloth to restore their minimum moisture levels.

With this basic maintenance, bedroom wicker furniture can last for years to come.

Fancy Dress Costumes, Has Sexy Become the New Scary?

Dressing up for your man in sexy underwear or sexy costumes is a surefire way to grab the attention of your significant other. Men are visual beings by their nature and appreciate women who make the effort to dress up for them.

Sexy costumes used to be something women wore to add excitement and fun in the bedroom. And course they still do. Lately , however, seeing sexy costumes everywhere is the norm. Whether it's a Halloween party or a nightclub, it is not unusual to see ordinary common costumes turned into sexy style diva outfits. When did sexy costumes become the norm? At what point did we move from dressing up being a scary disguise to dressing up being a way to tempt the opposite sex?

Sexy has become the New Scary

Years ago, it was popular to dress up in scary Halloween costumes. We have gradually moved away from that idea as people have become more creative with their costume choices. The latest trend is to turn your average, everyday costume into a sexy costume. An idea as simple as a taxi driver is turned into a sexy taxi driver with short shorts and a snug and revealing top. Even the materials that these costumes are made from send a sexy vibe. Some time ago, it certainly was not common to see Halloween costumes made of PVC or leather.

Scary and sexy combined is one trend that remains popular. The classic sexy cop is still a first choice for sexy costumes. Other sexy and scary costumes include Mafia Girl, Masked Bandit, Scandalous Pirate, Devil Bride and Sexy witch.

Girls can create a Bad Girl Image with Sexy Lingerie style Costumes!

A lot of women like to dress up sexy with a bad or naughty girl image. It shows they are strong, adventurous and have an inner passion waiting to get out. These Sexy costumes that portray a bad girl persona have been popular behind closed doors for many years, but now they are seeing the light of day in the bars and clubs and streets as sexy becomes the new norm in women's costumes. A few examples of this are the Rhinestone Cowgirl, Boxer Girl, Derby Diva and Sexy Secret Service. Pre wedding night girl parties see them in abundance.

Changing Children's Themes into Sexy Costumes

Suddenly, costumes that used to be considered childish are being made into sexy costumes as well. Some sexy costumes that are available are the Alice in Gothland, Sexy Tooth Fairy, Sexy Forest Nymph Fairy, Miss Moffit, Playboy Bo Peep, Sexy Red Riding Hood and Dorothy Girl. There are costumes that have been revamped to make them skimpier, more revealing and more appealing to men. There is even a Tin Girl costume a silver mini-dress with accessories that is modeled after the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz.

Sexy Holiday Costumes

While a holiday isn't necessary to create a sensual mood, there are plenty of sexy holiday themed costumes for women that could drive a man crazy with desire. In simple terms, if you can think of a sexy holiday themed costume, it probably already exists. You can find costumes form the Sexy Charmed Leprechaun and Playboy Bunny to the Christmas Elf, Sexy Santa, Candy Cane Mini Dress and Frosty Vixen.

Role Playing with Sexy Costumes

Create different moods by trying out several styles of sexy costumes. Since sexy lingerie style costumes are becoming the standard, there is a large variety available. This does make it easier to select the optimum sexy costume for role-playing fun that will spice up your love life and your relationship.

Sexual Styles Inside and Outside the Bedroom

Knowing your unique needs and the needs of your sexual partner can be very enlightening. See if you can find a little bit or a lot of yourself in each of these characters - and I am sure you will recognize an ex or a present partner in one or many of these characters. This is not about accusations and excuses but rather the realities necessary to understand the developing self and current struggles. The important thing when looking at these sexual styles is not to try to figure out which sexual type you or someone is but rather to use this knowledge to improve your sexual relationships. Pay attention to how your own sexual style and behaviour makes your partner feel about themselves and the relationship because your sexual style may be hurting your relationships..

1. The Sexual Traffic Cop

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Traffic Cop is what we would call a typical control freak. They often feel that they were put on this earth to "put others in their place" and feel obligated to tell others what is 'right' and what is "wrong". They tend to think their views, their families, relationships or career are what everyone should emulate and do not hesitate flaunting them in public for everyone to copy. They are often critical and demanding, always giving orders and making up rules. They can be very picky, impatient and judgmental; constantly giving advice, correcting or "mothering" others.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Traffic Cop, you will get so many directions and instructions on what he/she likes and doesn't like. They will tell you how you should feel and respond and they may demonstrate to you how they want you to do it to them and ask you to do exactly the way they do it. You make one "wrong" move and he/she just stops and refuses to continue. The worst part is that there are so many instructions that you never seem to remember what they like or don't like. You feel pressured, controlled and inadequate every time.

2. The Sexual Beast

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Beast usually talks loudly - and dirty. They are the sort of people who are all over the place and are either disillusioned that others really like them or do not care if they are liked or not. They have a strong need to dominate others and to be in charge of things. They may appear very controlled but are cynical and temperamental, and easily explode into anger when their authority or intelligence is challenged. They can be very vindictive and manipulative. They aren't necessarily angry at the opposite sex it's just that they confuse aggression and chaos with passion and spontaneity.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Beast, you are not sure whether you are being loved or devoured. His/her panting, grabbing, slapping, scratching, biting, pushing, pulling and bestial noises or "dirty talk" reduces the sex act to its very basic crude level. You are left frightened, distrustful, unsatisfied and angry but not sure why.

3. The Sexual Martyr

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Martyr lives with a victim mentality. They are always telling "poor me" stories, blaming others for everything that has happened to them. They don't believe they are lovable or worthwhile and find it difficult to express their needs or ask for what they want. They've never had satisfying experiences and feel used and taken advantage of all the time.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Martyr you sense that "something" in not right but however much you ask, he/she will never tell. The only way they try to let you know what is happening is when you try to be intimate their first reaction is to move away a little or just lie there motionless. You sort of start getting resentful because you can't read his/her mind and you feel guilty for not being able to figure out what is really going on.

4. The Sexual Procrastinator

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Procrastinator avoids doing things he/she needs to do or deal with and hates being told what to do. They ask for advice, make goals and promises but never actually get to carry them out. They are usually very rational and reasonable and take themselves seriously. They can be very talkative, impressionable, sensitive and warm but feel uncomfortable about getting close to other people and often avoid these situations.

Inside the bedroom: If you ever get to have sex with a Sexual Procrastinator consider yourself one of the most patient people on earth because by the time you get to actually have sex with this character, you'll have heard all kinds of logical explanations as to how the mood, timing and the place is just not right. But even during sex, they will find little problems to interrupt or force you to stop. You are left feeling controlled, neglected, desperate and angry.

5. The Sexual Glutton

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Glutton is a professional at enjoying him/herself. Sexual Gluttons have low tolerance to pain or suffering and are often prone to addictive behaviours. They usually seek out adult toys to play with and when they find something that gives them pleasure; food, alcohol, drugs etc. they get completely lost in sensation oblivious of the people and everything around them.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Glutton you get the feeling you are just a toy for their pleasure. If you try to change what you are doing to give them pleasure, they motion for you to keep going, paying no attention whatsoever to your feelings. While you feel "high and dry" he/she is in his/her pleasure world. You are left feeling left out, unimportant, unloved and angry at being used.

6. The Sexual Performer

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Performer is wildly enthusiastic about everything. Everything and everyone is always fantastic, wonderful, amazing, fabulous, great, brilliant etc. When you meet this character you are almost sure he/she is the most passionate person you've ever met, yet you get a feeling that there is something not quite right about his/her passion - you're probably right. Sexual Performers are people who want to get close to others, but tend to be so anxious about intimacy that they often scare others away.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Performer you get the feeling they are putting on a show; they make a lot of noise and they will do this and do that, frequently changing positions and telling you over and over how fabulous it is. They'll even insist sex is better in front of a mirror because they want to watch themselves perform. Their "pleasure" seems so exaggerated that you are not sure whether it is sex or their performance that they like so much. You are left feeling used, mistrustful and even resentful.

7. The Sexual Idealist

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Idealist is sensitive, powerful and very intelligent. They are usually spiritual and philosophical, and are passionate about the protection of the environment, cruelty against animals and world poverty. They desperately want fairness and goodness for everyone and in everything because their past experiences have been the opposite. They may be children of divorced or emotionally isolated and dissociated parents, were adopted or lived with parents who were kept busy working. Because they have been abandoned again and again they may be deluded that their work, relationships and life are perfect and are afraid to look at life honestly because they fear that their positive outlook may collapse.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Idealist be prepared to enjoy it not once but twice: first when you hear the great and wonderful benefits of sex and again after when you hear a recounting of the just concluded magical experience. He/she will tell you how sex with you is much better than all the ones he/she's had all his/her life and what a wonderful lover you are. You find yourself pressured to perform to similar or higher standards, just to keep up. But their "ideal" world leaves you feeling inadequate, not loved for yourself and mistrustful of their claims.

8. The Sexual Pleaser

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Pleaser is usually sweet, cheerful, enthusiastic and nice to everyone. They have a tendency to confuse love with pity, and a tendency to "love" people they can pity and rescue. They are overly dependant on the approval of members of their family, spouse, friends, colleagues and even strangers. They will go to any lengths and overboard to please and when they do they will stand there silently with a "so?" look on their face. They can easily be manipulated because Sexual Pleasers have a hard time saying "no' to requests outside and inside of the bedroom.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Pleaser, you will feel wonderful - at first - because they come across as the super lover. They ask "Do you like this or Am I pleasing you?" They even go to the lengths of apologizing if you say you did not like that. After a while you start feeling selfish and guilty. You sense their desperation and need to please and feel obligated to him/her but at the same time feel controlled by their neediness.

9. The Sexual Corpse

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Corpse is an expert at repressing his/her feelings. They appear cool, calm and collected on the outside but deep inside they are anxious, worried, and fearful. Many have suffered a lot of hurt, pain, frustration and have been abused as children or by their sexual partners. They often find it difficult to trust others and to self-disclose. They don't easily forgive and never forget. Even if they openly don't say it you get the feeling talking to them that they are so angry at the opposite sex.

Inside the bedroom: When you have sex with a Sexual Corpse, their idea of sex is you playing "sex psychic". They never show emotion or say a word before, during or after sex. Its up to you to guess how they are feeling or if they like sex with you. Its up to you to figure out what they want - or if they even like you. If you ask them if they like something the best they can come up with is 'Its fine". You are left inadequate, frustrated and even angry at them.

10. The Sexual Tease

Outside the bedroom: The Sexual Tease is the kind of man or woman who looks at your partner and makes them wish they were single. They just love to advertise how "super-sexy" they - they dress and walk the part. Their whole idea of life is superficiality - clothes, status etc., and have a habit of name-dropping or mentioning their connections to famous, rich and powerful people. They are very competitive with members of the same sex and are usually very jealous and possessive people. The Sexual Tease also has problems opening up and making commitments to another person.

Inside the bedroom: Forget the bedroom - a Sexual Tease comes on very strong and aggressive, turning you on and driving you crazy with his/her act. But as soon as there is a possibility that sex might actually take place, the sexy, hot and wild image disappears. They start giving excuses or find something else to do - so that they can tease you some more. And if you actually manage to have sex with this character - you will be very disappointed. A Sexual Tease is turned on by the idea of being wild and sexy but not by the actual act of sex itself. You find yourself feeling humiliated, used, manipulated and angry.

Conclusion: I believe that there is no "right" or "wrong" way of making love. Sex is "good" when it makes both of your feel good about yourselves and about the relationship and it is 'bad" when it leaves you unhappy and adds to your negative feelings about yourself, your partner or about relationships. The good news is that there is something you can always do to become the lover you are capable of being (listed on my website are some of the things you can immediately do). The Super Lover is in everyone of us. What you need first and foremost is deep insights into the unique, creative and ultimately mysterious being you are. Second you need an intuitive understanding of the intricate dynamics of man-woman energies. Learning specific techniques is NOT enough, you need to know the interplay between the sexes that is sufficient to evoke a deep connection and smoldering passion.

Sexy Costumes and Bedroom Games

Sexy costumes have a huge role to play in making a lot of people awed by your innate sensuality. Be it a lingerie or any other smartly revealing dress; there is something mysterious and beautiful about the way you carry yourself in that outfit. It does not only mean that you have to flaunt your attire only for events like parties, social meets or other public event. You can also experiment with sensuous attire for role-playing at the bedroom with your spouse.

To enhance your sex life, it is better to be creative with your clothes. To make love in the nude may be a highly interesting thing in the beginning when you see each other in the buff for the first few occasions but then the novelty wears off, especially for men who are visual by nature. To keep the mood electric forever, you should experiment with your clothes while love-making. By now, you may have realized that you should refrain from being totally nude rightaway while making out. Create the right stir by making use of sexy costumes and vivid role-play. This will definitely heighten the love-making process and keep the magic going on for a long time.

Create scenarios and wear the right costume that suits the mood. For instance, you can choose to be a damsel in distress, wear the dress of a princess from the Victorian era or simply the costume of a sexy nurse or of a non non-sense teacher. Of course, you can ask your husband or partner also about his fantasies and what his preferences lie in, and then accordingly play along. You can choose to seduce or be seduced according to what kind of role-play and sexy costume you wear. For instance, if you are wearing the costume of a damsel in distress or a Kate Winslet like costume from the Titanic movie, you can play the vulnerable, coy girl and let your partner do the honors. If you wear the sexy costume of a strict teacher, you can make use of a whip and let his school boy fantasies come alive. With the right mix of dresses and role-playing imagination, there can be a lot of spice in your sex life.

Themed Bedroom Ideas That Can Grow With Your Little Girl

As a parent, how to decorate your child's room is one of the tough decisions you have to make. She might love Dora the Explorer today, but it's not likely that she'll want cartoons on her walls forever. You could end up spending a ton of money redecorating every year or two if you don't think ahead. Here are seven theme ideas for girls' rooms that can grow with her over the years, saving you money.

Princess

All little girls love to be princesses - and teens like to act like them too. Take a more mature approach to it from the start. Chose a subdued pink and pair it with browns to give the room a Victorian look. Canopy beds are regal, but they can be expensive. Instead, go for a smaller, removable net canopy, which attaches to the ceiling via a ring and only flows over the head of the bed. Use gold touches to finish the room with an elegant feel, and display princess toys that your child has until she outgrows them.

Garden

Instead of painting cartoon flowers and bumble bees all over the walls, which can be fun for a toddler but overwhelming for a teenager, try using real flowers (or silk flowers if you don't have a green thumb) on shelves that are out of reach of tiny hands. Use natural colors, like greens and browns, for painting and sheer curtains to let in as much light as possible. Keep the artwork on the walls whimsical enough for a children's room - like pictures of fairies or butterflies - yet sophisticated enough for teens; skip the cartoons and look for prints of paintings.

Retro

Creating a retro room for your daughter can be fun, but don't go too crazy with the flower power and smiley faces! Instead, stick to using colors that were popular in the 1960s and add fun touches like beaded curtains, printed rugs, and beanbag chairs. Use a lava lamp as a nightlight and stick to fabrics in funky prints, like paisley.

Paris

Pink French poodles and polka dots look cute in a little girls' room, and it is actually fairly easy to take that style idea and make it appropriate for any age group. Start with color - a Parisian themed room should have elements of black, pink, white, and tan. Stuffed poodles can easily be replaced on shelves with more sophisticated dcor, such as an Eiffel Tower replica or French country prints. Add mirrors and sconces to the walls (out of reach of small children of course) and for the furniture, think wrought iron and wood painted white or cream and distressed.

Celestial

Girls can love sciences and technology as much as boys, so why not choose a celestial outer space theme for your child? Use navy-colored paint to give the illusion of a night sky and glow-in-the-dark stars that can be removed if she no longer likes them when she's older. To give the room a girl's touch, use celestial sun, moon, and star accent pieces and pretty cloud or sunset artwork.

Beach

Tropical themed bedrooms are always a hit for kids, but creating an island paradise that will still be appropriate when your toddler is a teen can be challenging. Subtlety is key here. Use beach colors like aqua and blue for the walls or furniture and instead of carpeting, go for a wood floor that gives the room a more beach bungalow feel. For small children, use some tropical-inspired rugs to make the play surface safer, and use shells and hibiscus flowers to complement your design. You can also use bamboo and wicker for furniture and blinds in the room, and frame artwork featuring mermaids, dolphins, and sailboats for the walls.

Hollywood Glitz

Most young girls love to play dress up, and teens may also be very into fashion. A Hollywood glitz and glam room can be great for themed bedrooms. Instead of a traditional dresser, chose a vanity, which your daughter will appreciate when she's in high school, and instead of a wallpaper border, string white Christmas lights around the room that can be kept up all year. Use clear beads that give the illusion of diamonds in the window treatment and for a chandelier-like lighting fixture and add a few touches of animal prints in pillows, throw rugs, etc. for a little fun.

Remember, your toddle may not grow up to like the style you chose, so be prepared for your tomboy teen to hate her garden-inspired room or your cheerleader to have an issue with the beach theme you picked. The good news is that no matter what theme you use today, if you switch out the accessories, she'll love it tomorrow. Avoid huge decor choices that are hard to change, because you want her room to grow with her tastes.

Nauti Intentions by Lora Leigh

Nauti Intentions is the 4th book in the Nauti Boy series. I've read the previous three, so it was no surprise when I picked this one up and devoured it. I'm a huge Lora Leigh fan and am amazed at her ability to write so many different series (The Breed Series, Tempting Seals Series, Elite Ops Series, etc.) In all of Miss Leigh's books you are guaranteed three things.

1. An extremely testosterone driven alpha male with a capital A.
2. Some serious sexual and emotional tension between the hero and heroine.
3. Lots and lots of action and suspense.
4. Oh, and one more thing, a well written story that keeps you turning the pages.

I must admit that there are many times when a very small part of my brain thinks, Marisa, "what up?" You are so not the kind of woman who gets into all this testosterone laden, bullets flying, 'I am man you are woman' kind of thing. But guess what? It seems I am. And the reason I am is because Lora sells it, and I buy it. She sells it by making sure her heroines are not the kind of women who run away from the ax murder in high heels screaming at the top of their lungs and falling down in a dark alley as their high heels break before the ax swings upon their lovely necks. That is to say, her heroines are the kind of women who say 'I am woman, you are man'. Miss Leigh also has the ability to pull you in so you want more and you race to the end to find out not only who is behind whatever mystery needs to be solved but how two very strong protagonists will find a way to be together.

Miss Leigh always seems to stack the deck against her heroes and heroines and Nauti Intentions is no exception. The book opens with Janey MacKay (sister of Natches from Nauti Dreams) being drugged and held against her will by her father (a terrorist) and her aunt (a very twisted woman). She is rescued by her brother Natches and his friend Major Alex Jansen. Alex has wanted Janey since she was 17 - but being fourteen years older than Janey and a man of honor - he stays in the shadows and hovers sticking to the directive he has been given by his friend Natches - "watch over my sister, take care of her".

After being rescued Janey continues to live in her home town and run her family's restaurant despite the fact that she is shunned and gossiped about due to her father's terrorist activities. If that wasn't enough, she's being stalked. Yes, Miss Leigh gives her heroines many obstacles to overcome. And with the sexual tension and lust flying between her and Alex, and Alex continuing to be a man of honor and keeping his distance, she ratchets up the tension just a few degrees more. Alex certainly wants Janey, but her youth is a deterrent, it keeps him at bay. Janey wants Alex and is frustrated by his 'code of honor'.

I love that very clear and simple time tested dynamic between the hero and heroine. No fuss, no muss. I want you but I can't have you. Skilled authors like Ms. Leigh make this clean through line of tension come alive when the hero or heroine is a person in danger. With Janey being stalked Alex is not going to stay too far away from the woman he loves and will do everything in his power to protect her. This is where one sighs and says 'now you're talking'. And in that intense heightened sense of danger Janey and Alex find each other, they dance the dance. It's quick, sharp, passionate and powerful.

Nauti Intentions is a great addition to the Nauti Boys series, with many of the characters from the other books making an appearance (which I always enjoy). I'm looking forward to more books about this family and their friends, more alpha males with a capital A, more suspense, and more romance.

Romantic Red For the Bedroom

Add the right zing to your bedroom:

The bed in the bedroom can be in contemporary design thus adding that extra space required in the room. The head rest made of leather can be in dark brown which matches perfectly with the bed. To add the right zing and the right streak of color you can use the red duvet which is a symbol of passion and love as well as enthusiasm and energy.

Arrange lamp shades in the bedroom so that they make the bedroom well lit. The rest of the lighting can be arranged in different angles through the windows which allow the right play of shadow and light in the bedroom. It is a good idea to have the lamp shades in red.

Accessories in red:

Sitting and relaxing in the bedroom is a common thing. To store all your albums containing precious memories and all your knick knacks you can have a chest at one end of the red bed. A red chair made of teak and other small pieces of furniture around the bedroom with red upholstery can look quite interesting. At one end of the bed you can have a stocky legged stool with a television set on the other side of the room which you can watch sitting comfortably on the bed. No need to dress the windows when you have panes of frosted glass fixed on them, which is an innovative way of not dressing the windows.

Right behind the bed you can have picture frames on the wall, and the side tables can have them too. The red master bedroom theme can be made quite interesting with grey walls in the bedroom. Such color combinations never came together harmoniously as they are today. Red, brown, light brown, grey as well the red color which arouses passion, form a combination that is awe inspiring. Ambitious people are known to use a lot of red color in bedrooms. The red color has a positive effect on your mind when you wake up in the morning, thinking clearly and then getting set for the day to achieve your goals.

Bedroom Fashions for Newly-Wedded Couples

Bedroom fashions for newly wedded couples take some major compromise unless one of the members of the couple could care less! And, that is not usually the case so couples must consider whether they want a full size captain bed or a captions bed or perhaps if adjustable linens would be something they are interested in. There are a lot of current styles for newly wedded couples to consider when it comes to bedroom fashions and there are some tips as well to help make the purchase go as smoothly as possible.

First of all, newly wedded couples are generally on a budget and that means that they should be extra careful about spending a lot of money on bedroom fashions. Trends change and if the couple will regret their purchase in five years then they should never have made it. So, the best thing to do is find a bedroom suite that is acceptable to both the man and woman in the relationship that they both feel they will like for at least 10 years down the road if not more. Beds made of dark wood and with simple lines are always a good and elegant choice. They match everything and will always be beautiful and stylish no matter what is in style. Keep this in mind when you enter a store and think how stylish one particular bedroom suite is. If you feel you can live with it for at least 10 years if not forever then go for it. If you aren't quite sure find one that fits this criterion.

If you buy a bedroom suite, which will likely cost you upwards of a thousand dollars, then you can be a little more playful with your comforter and linens. That's because these are easy to change when you are tired of a specific color or style. Buy sheets that are bright and bold colors and a duvet cover that matches. But, when you are tired of this trend buy some sheets that are patterned or in lighter colors. Whatever the trend it is a lot easier to play around with your sheets and other linens than it is with your actual bed!

If all newly wedded couples follow this advice they will find that they love their bedroom furniture and the versatility of changing sheets and comforter sets as they like new colors or choose to paint the walls. Make life easy and think ahead before you buy furniture and your marriage will be smooth sailing!

Wild kittens move in (then we tame them)

A friend trapped 3 wild kittens that were around 6 to 8 weeks old, she kept one and I took the other two. They lived in the bathroom for a couple weeks, the dresser drawer in our bedroom for a couple weeks, the bedroom closet for a while and then moved to the rest of the house with us. This is the journey. Enjoy.

Bridal Lingerie

The lingerie is one of the most intimate pieces of clothing that a woman would ever wear, and the bridal lingerie is no exception. The bridal lingerie is one that is in fact subject to much fuss and ado among the bride and her closest friends and families long before the wedding event itself begins. Even the manufacturers of the bridal lingerie are aware of this fact, and careful planning and consideration is given to the production of the bridal lingerie.

Most manufacturers often shy away from using silk material in the production of lingerie for women, but the bridal lingerie is not like any other. It is a lingerie that has only one occasion in mind - the wedding night. So whereas other lingerie are made to last through the wear of continuous use, the bridal lingerie instead focuses its attention on creating just one spectacular first impression - and nothing does that better than silk does. Silk is a material that gently hugs a woman's curved frame and sensuously defines her essence that makes her a woman. It is a material that is both divine to the touch and comfortable to wear.

Bridal lingerie takes many forms - the lingerie version of the bridal gown being the most innovative. A bride obviously wants to wear her own wedding gown for as long as is possible on the wedding day, for it is the only day that she would ever wear such a dress again; it is the only day that would ever be solely about her again. So why not extend such a desire into the bedroom? The bridal dress lingerie can be a mini version of the wedding dress or it can be the alluring two-piece outfit. The bridal dress lingerie is one of the most charming lingerie that the new bride could choose - regardless of if your style is baby doll or corset, mini dress or mini skirt, sheer or stretch. Most bridal dress lingerie comes with several pieces which could include the wedding veil, the matching gloves and the leg garter.

Other types of sultry bridal lingerie that the bride-to-be could explore or consider include the chemise lingerie and the gown lingerie. Both of these lingerie are dress lingerie as well, but one is short whereas the other is long. Either of these dress lingerie however is the sophisticated lingerie that the hesitant new bride would choose for the first night together with her new husband. It is both a modest lingerie as well as a divinely alluring one - it can be the lace lingerie or the stretch lace lingerie; it can be the sheer lingerie or the robed lingerie.

Whichever lingerie the new bride chooses however, it most definitely would set the mood for romance and make the new bride feel like the princess that she should be in her new husband's eyes.

Add a Tropical Burst of Relaxation and Fun to Your Bedroom With Hawaiian Decor

Looking for an interesting theme for your bedroom? Why not delve into the exotic world of tropical themes, and use Hawaiian décor to create your own personal paradise. If you are a more conservative decorator, or have never decorated in a theme before, a Hawaiian or island theme may seem a little excessive for your bedroom. However, in actuality, because there are so many elements to Hawaiian décor, you can make your bedroom as extravagant or basic as you want.

The following are some ideas for you to think about when putting together such a theme for your bedroom:

Walls - There are many ways you can color your walls. If you would like to keep it simple, a clean neutral shade of brown such as sand or a light taupe, or a warm white are excellent paint choices. For those who would prefer a more dynamic wall, consider painting the wall a bright but soft yellow, blue or green.

On the other hand, if you are feeling creative, you could paint a beach wall mural, or purchase a ready made mural, such as a Hawaiian sunset, and paste it on the wall. In addition, don't forget, there are always palm tree, palm leaf, and floral wallpaper if you like prints.

Floors - Deep red-brown, chestnut, or sand colored wood floors are the perfect compliment for any Hawaiian décor. If hard wood floors are out of your budget, consider laminate. Conversely, if carpet is preferred, a nice light or dark shade of brown, ocean blue, sea green or light green are all ideal choices.

Doors and Moldings - These elements of the room should be colored in a dark and rich brown such as oak or cherry to blend nicely with the rest of the room.

Window treatments - The best window treatments for Hawaiian décor are wooden shutters, or bamboo blinds. You can leave these window treatments as is, or you can provide them with a little more oomph by adding a delicate white sheer curtain.

Lighting - A wood ceiling fan, especially one with blades in the shape of palm leaves, is ideal for the Hawaiian theme. If a ceiling fan is out of the question, opt for any other basic ceiling light, as your goal is to not make the ceiling light a focal point of the room. Hula dancer lamps, palm tree lamps, or pineapple lamps are also fun décor pieces for bedside tables or end tables.

Bedding - In regards to bedding, you essentially have two options. Either choose a solid color for your quilt or comforter, or choose a print. If you choose a solid color, you can add printed throw pillows to dress up your bed. However, if you choose a print, such as orchids or palm leaves, make sure you accent throw pillows and walls with solid colors. It is imperative that the room doesn't carry too many prints or it will look to busy and intimidating.

Furniture - Wood furniture is definitely the way to go. If you cannot obtain solid wood furniture, opt for bamboo, or dark faux wood furniture. That being said, don't overload your space with furniture, as your goal is to create an open space. Therefore, make sure you include all essential furniture pieces first (I.E. bed, dresser, chest of drawers and bedside table). If you still have room than you can add any other furniture such as end tables, sitting chair, shelves, armoire, etc.

Accessories - Other Hawaiian décor you may wish to add to the room include:

o Palm plant (real or artificial)

o Vase of artificial orchids

o Wall tapestries of palm trees, orchids or palm leaves

o Authentic Hawaiian art

o Pictures of palm trees, orchids, a beach, Hawaiian architecture, hula girl, or actual framed photographs taken in Hawaii, etc.

Note: wooden frames are best for pictures or wall art.

o Area rug with flower or palm leaf

o Plain or decorative bamboo or wooden screen

o Throw pillows with floral or palm leaf pattern.

o Bamboo chair

When it comes to using Hawaiian décor for your bedroom, there are plenty of options to choose from. Your decisions will be based on your budget and your own personal taste. Therefore, make sure you shop around and look for different items before making any final decisions. Finally, trust your own judgment and don't be afraid to be creative when putting together your bedroom. Take your time, and have fun!
