There are many things you can do and many places you can go to get your home looking more fresh and modernized. I will explore many of those options here for you.

1. Your living room can be a costly room to update. But a big trend right now, is the use of slip covers. They may range from $30-$60. but may be worth every penny to you. They can give your living room an instant boost of color and texture, while providing you with many years of more usage of your living room furniture. You may need to tuck in the covers when you straighten or clean your living room, but they are not such a big hassle, especially when you think of all the money you saved by buying them. Adding new pillows for the sofas, or easy chairs, is also a added comfort measure you can take, that is fairly inexpensive as well.

2. Your dining room is another place that can be costly to update, but by buying slip covers for your dining room chairs, you can add years of life to them as well. You can also find all kinds of table coverings, if your table has a lot of scratches on it, and if you are not able or comfortable with the thought of refinishing your dining room furniture, then there are dozens of table and chair coverings out there to choose from. Again, it is a lot less expensive than replacing all of that furniture with brand new.

3. Your bathroom could be as easy as buying and installing new hardware for your tub and shower, or sink. Buying a new shower curtain, with pretty new curtain rings will update your bathroom quickly, and affordably. Even buying a couple of new towels and wash cloths a month, could quickly add to the new, inspired look and feel of your bathroom.4. Your bedroom should be your ultimate sanctuary, in my opinion. You should feel enveloped in comfort and security for a good nights rest.

Buying new curtains and curtain rods, or blinds, are cheerful ways to dress up your bedroom. A lot of times you'll see stores where they have the "bed in a bag sale". It might be worth your while to hit a sale like that, because just having a brand new bedding set, can really bring color and beauty to your bedroom, quickly, and fairly inexpensively. Try to follow the sales in your area to hit the really good ones.

4. Your kitchen can be easy if you only need new curtains or blinds. But if you are needing new cabinets and cupboards, you might need to save up or get help with a loan. There is no really cheap way around those things, unless you are willing and able to paint them. But, from my experience, that takes a lot of time, and paint isn't as cheap as it used to be.
