A floral duvet cover set is the easiest way to turn an old boring bed set into a brand new, beautiful one. A duvet cover can be bought alone, but with just a few dollars more you can get it with matching shams, pillowcases and sheets. I have always purchased my comforter covers in sets rather then alone. I make sure it includes both shams and pillowcases. A bed filled with pillows is very inviting. Getting a duvet set that has both pillowcases and shams in two different styles looks more fun then all four being of the same design.
The shams should be placed in front of the pillowcases. The shams take place of decorative pillows as well. They usually have an opening in the middle of the back, with slightly overlapped fabric. Pillow cases can be used for decoration but there main purpose is to protect the pillows. They can be used inside the pillow sham with the pillow. When it is time to go to bed, you can easily remove the pillow sham and sleep with the pillow case over the pillow.
The perfect floral duvet set should also be reversible. It is the fastest way to change the look of your bedroom without spending a dime. You will spend less purchasing a reversible bed set then one that is not reversible. Purchasing one with two completely different designs is great. A good duvet cover would have a floral print on one side and the other side being stripe. No one will ever suspects that it is the same bed set. A good tip when having a reversible comforter cover is flipping the top half over the bed. This will create a different look.
Another advantage of buying a duvet set is the matching sheets. The sheets usually come fitted or flat. Fitted sheets cover the mattress. They have elastic sewed into the fabric on all four ends. This helps secure the sheet onto the mattress and prevents it from slipping off. Flat sheets on the other hand do not have any elastic sewed onto them. They lay flat on the mattress and can be used to replace bed ruffles. They can also be tucked into the mattress.
