organizing TIP- organizing for specific styles. You may know this fact...not everyone has the same organizing style. It almost took my 10 year old and I to a battle of the wits for me to figure this out on a deeper level. He is what I consider the "anti-organizer" ( I do say that in the most loving way that I can :) he is the person in my life that keeps me real and he really challenged me on organizing his bedroom.( I have to add that we are both Taurus) He had a dresser in his room and I was continuously going in and fixing the clothing that was hanging out as well as the drawers that never got closed. I finally said enough is enough and I took the dresser out of the room...now our relationship is much better. With the dresser out of the room all he has now is the closet...he gets his clothing on laundry day, brings it up to his room, shoves(yes shoves) the clothing into his closet and closes the door. I don't care what it looks like once it hits the closet because I don't see it(sometimes we have to adjust our expectations in order to maintain healthy relationships). Everyone is happy...the discussion has been removed from our relationship. Think about the people that you live with, the variety of organizing styles. Are the systems fitting the people or are you trying to impose your style on other people. Recorded on January 27, 2011 using a Flip Video camcorder.
